Job Summary
The Director of Data Platforms is responsible for leading the teams that develop and maintain SERVPRO's data pipelines, data warehouse, data lake house, and data sets for AI and machine learning. This role works closely with executive leaders to align data initiatives with IT strategy to support the goals, drivers, and objectives of SERVPRO. The Director of Data Platforms drives best practices and leads the design, deployment, and evolution of data pipelines and structured or semi-structured data sets to support business intelligence (BI) visualizations, and machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI) tools. This individual brings deep experience in data engineering, data architecture, and data governance, as well as strong leadership and organizational competencies. The Director of Data Platforms excels at complex problem recognition, data solutions, and communication with constituents ranging from senior business leaders to deeply technical engineers. This is a pivotal role driving the evolution and delivery of data technologies in the SERVPRO system.
You will
- Partner with executive and technology leadership to develop a comprehensive strategy for data platforms, ensuring alignment of business strategies and goals to data tools and capabilities.
- Lead the team to design and deliver a new platform for data solutions in the SERVPRO system, guiding all phases of the project from requirements through design to implementation and support.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance on data tooling and techniques for delivering data into the SERVPRO data platform.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning to encourage and develop data management, data architecture, and data governance competencies in high-potential and influential engineering resources.
- Participate in data governance and data development working groups with cross functional leaders and subject matter experts.
- Drive innovation and adoption of new data solutions and capabilities in diverse problem and business domains.
- Establish foundational practices for utilization and governance of key data models, ensuring logical and physical data models conform to business conceptual models as and where they are defined.
- Develop and execute strategic and operational plans to lead the Data Platform teams in delivering outstanding results to their customers.
- Demonstrate and maintain deep technical knowledge across the core and emerging technologies in data platforms, data engineering, and data science.
You have
- 6+ years of relevant experience in leadership roles working with data platforms, data engineering, data science, or business intelligence.
- Strong understanding of data technologies, including data pipelines, data warehouses, data governance, and data sets for AI and machine learning.
- Strong business partner interface skills; proven leadership; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing data platform or related technology strategies in a corporate environment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
- Advanced degree in a computer science, data science, or a computational discipline is a plus.
